Rathcoole with travel throughout Ireland and mainland Europe, Republic of Ireland

The role will be based in our Rathcoole Office, with some travel throughout Ireland to customers sites and some travel in mainland Europe (as required to manage relationships with Export partners).


The Exports and Brokerage Technical Supervisor, Greenogue will work closely with the Exports and Brokerage Manager to oversee the Exports and Brokerage Business in Ireland and ensure that all waste movements and related customer interactions and technical, administrative processes are performed efficiently, in the most cost-effective manner and in compliance with relevant EPA licenses, Irish and EU regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities of Exports & Brokerage Technical Manager will include:

  • The successful candidate will champion the employment of the Waste Tracking Software, Waste Profiling App’, CRM and other software platforms.
  • Take a lead role in the preparation of DGSA & AER’s for Enva customers.
  • Close liaison with in-bound logistics function and the activities of the Logistics Administrator, including the following:
  • Planning of collections and deliveries in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.
  • Classification of wastes, designation of appropriate packaging, assignment of EWC codes and preparation of all transport documentation and labels.
  • Maintenance of a high level of communication with the customer, carriers, and internal stakeholders
  • Work with the field-based sales team to correctly classify/profile new waste streams in a timely manner and select the most cost and environmentally beneficial treatment outlet. Recording of sales enquiries, waste profiling and quotations as required and the in designated systems.
  • Liaison with existing customers on issues arising. Effectively working as part of a team in the management of those customer accounts that have significant value or have specific service requirements. Assistance with weekly sales forecasting and reporting.
  • Management of out-going shipments including, planning, in collaboration with the Brokerage Warehouse Manager, booking of transport and delivery dates, preparation of export documentation packs. Maintenance of contacts with disposal outlets and maintain data for all outlets including the costs and acceptance criteria by waste type for each outlet and add to and maintain this on an ongoing basis.
  • Optimisation of outbound routing for Exports & Brokerage Waste from both a commercial & service perspective.
  • Actively manage the waste acceptance requirements and help address pricing issues with outlets as they arise.
  • Maintenance of contacts with the various competent authorities through-out Europe. Undertaking of familiarisation visits to disposal facilities, to include auditing of those facilities, from time to time. Ensure that accurate purchase orders are raised/accrued for all export-related activities and invoices are correctly received and processed.
  •  Act as the Exports & Brokerage liaison for the Group TFS Manager for TFS applications and renewals related to Brokerage Division ensuring that appropriate TFSs are in place at all times to ensure business continuity.
  •  Work with the Exports & Brokerage Team to ensure that transport documentation is submitted to the Accounts Department for invoicing in a timely manner. Assistance with accounting month-end activities.
  • Safety: liaison with EHS team to ensure the preparation of method statements and risk assessments as necessary, allocation of PPE, focus on health and safety for all activities.
  • Costs: focus on costs, notably for transport and packaging, to ensure maximum efficiency, minimum waste.
  • Liaison with customers, transport companies, suppliers, shipping agents, disposal outlets and colleagues to support the development of a safe, compliant and efficient division within the company.
  • Other related tasks may be assigned from time to time.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and skills: 

  • Hazardous Waste Management experience essential
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Qualified & experienced DGSA.
  • Competent in MS Office including Excel
  • Commercial acumen whilst desirable is not essential
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Relevant Technical Qualification a distinct advantage
