Main purpose of role:

To fully manage the Safety, Compliance and Maintenance of the Enva Fleet. The position requires advanced maintenance/engineering skills or experience in a transport environment and knowledge and awareness of transport and driver legislation and compliance requirements.

General Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Carry out maintenance and repairs on the Enva Fleet and arrange suitably qualified and equipped suppliers to effect service and repairs if required ensuring the most cost-effective options are used
  • Work closely with Operations to drive efficiencies and cost savings by using your experience to plan maintenance across the fleet at times which will have the least impact on the operation
  • Arrange and co-ordinate all regulatory vehicle testing such as CVRT, ADR, Tachograph Calibrations, Tank Testing and periodic safety inspections
  • Perform and/or organise the Preventative Maintenance of the Fleet and maintain the internal PPM systems and records
  • Ensure all transport operations are carried out in compliance with all relevant regulations and a high standard of safety is maintained
  • To co-ordinate and respond to all breakdowns and transport related accidents and incidents
  • Follow up and investigate incidents and where possible implement procedures to prevent recurrence
  • Be responsible for transport related HSA/regulatory and compliance matters
  • Advice and ensure compliance in the carriage of Dangerous Goods (ADR)
  • Conduct regular audits, checks and inspections on the fleet, sub-contractors and service providers. Be the Enva point of contact for audits on the Enva Fleet and Transport Management systems
  • Perform administrative duties relating to the Fleet Safety and Compliance. Maintain accurate records and prepare and submit reports as required
  • Work closely with the Business Operations and Managers, Group HSE Manager, and EHS Officers throughout the business to provide advice and guidance Fleet Safety, Compliance and Maintenance issues
  • Provide updates on fleet status, costs, quality, uptime performance and improvement recommendations
  • Report and analyse KPI’s and operational metrics focussed on maximising profit; such as driver utilisation, vehicle utilisation & customer satisfaction.

Qualifications / Skills/ Experience:

  • Must have strong mechanical / engineering / technical background or experience
  • Applicants should be suitably qualified and have experience in light/heavy commercial vehicle maintenance, repair, diagnostic and standard repair times
  • Full driving licence for classes B, BE, C1, C, CE, CE1
  • DGSA qualification or knowledge of the carriage of dangerous good by road would be a distinct advantage
  • Transport Management CPCs an advantage
  • Practical experience of legislation and regulatory requirements for the transportation of hazardous goods is desirable
  • Ability to work on own initiative and be innovative
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Highly PC literate; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
  • Relevant hands on experience in a similar environment would be an advantage.
