The Successful candidate will play an integral role in managing and delivering Enva’s IT applications while ensuring the underlying infrastructure is fit for purpose in conjunction with other IT Managers. 

Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, responsibilities in this varied role will include;

  • Manage and develop the applications team, carry out performance reviews, identify any skill gaps, and create the respective progression plan.
  • Maintain, grow and continuously integrate services, applications and platforms into overall company infrastructure.
  • Responsible for Enva’s overall IT security to ensure adequate network and data security including firewall administration.
  • Configure and regularly test an appropriate Disaster Recovery capability to meet the business needs.
  • Review, plan and implement proactive support upgrades, patching and all other maintenance activities.
  • Manage key suppliers via appropriate governance and ensure delivery of SLA’s for all systems.
  • Serve as principal IT resource to direct and resolve IT related problems.
  • Assist in delivering the Groups Digital Transformation Programme.
  • Manage Programme and Project Managers and other contract resources.
  • Maintain an Application Roadmap for the division.
  • Escalate service failings/performance issues with suppliers and ensure clear communication to the business users.
  • Plan, support and complete implementation of IT projects, policies and application replacement programme to meet the business needs and ensure compliance with best practice.
  • Identify IT related inefficiencies and develop solutions, policies or procedures as appropriate to remove or minimise these.
  • Work with IT Leadership and Management to develop and execute IT Applications strategy.
  • Assist in the planning and management of the IT budget to deliver highly cost efficient and effective solutions appropriate to the business.
  • Establish and maintain key working relationships with internal (Head of Service Delivery, Service Desk Manager, Service Delivery Manager, MD’s of Specialist divisions, Head of Applications (General), operational staff, finance staff and sales staff) and external stakeholders (IT suppliers and customers).
  • Stay abreast of current technologies and make recommendations based on knowledge and research.
  • Be available to travel nationally and from time to time internationally as required.

The following skills/experience are essential: -

  • Degree in Information Technology or relevant experience
  • Qualification in ITIL and Prince 2 (or equivalent)
  • 2 + years in an IT Management position
  • Experience in project management utilising Waterfall and Agile Projects
  • Be able to demonstrate initiative and innovation
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
