Enva accelerates fleet modernisation programme

Enva, one of the UK and Ireland’s leading recycling and resource recovery businesses, has taken delivery of 17 new DAF artic units as part of its fleet upgrade programme which will see the company invest circa £12 million in approximately 100 new vehicles over the next 2 years.

The new highly efficient vehicles will be distributed across all four of Enva’s dry waste depots in Scotland, supporting its continued growth, further reducing fuel consumption and emissions and improving service levels.

As well as being highly efficient, the new vehicles also boast the latest safety technology including 360-degree camera systems to protect the driver, pedestrians, cyclists and other road users. They also have anti-roll-away systems installed which stop the vehicle moving in the event that the driver exits the cab without engaging the parking brake.

Commenting on the fleet upgrade programme Enva’s Managing Director, Barry Coughlan, said:

“By choosing Enva to manage their waste and recycling our customers are demonstrating their commitment to improving their environmental performance. This investment in new fleet will enable us to provide this service in the most sustainable way possible, whilst ensuring we continue to deliver the expected levels of service.

Over the next 18 months we will see another 80 new vehicles introduced into the fleet across the UK, incorporating more than 17 unique specifications. We are also trialling the latest developments in electric vehicles to realise additional commercial and environmental benefits in the future.”

The new vehicles, that join 30 others that have been purchased over the last 18 months, all feature the new Enva branding, which was implemented across the group in 2018.
