Enva announces partnership with EKFB to propel the JV’s environmental commitments

We are delighted to announce our partnership with EKFB to support the Joint Venture (JV) company’s waste management by reducing waste at source and identifying opportunities for increasing reuse and recycling opportunities. EKFB is a JV of Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial Construction and BAM Nuttall.

Following a competitive tendering process, the new partnership will see Enva support EKFB to drive forward the organisations waste management strategy. Enva will support the EKFB team with the efficient use of materials resources, by reducing waste at source and by identifying opportunities for increasing reuse plus enhanced recycling initiatives.

The EKFB workforce’s ethos of ‘Make It Count’ will encourage personal accountability of individual usage while at work, bringing together a 360-strategy aimed at reducing the impact on our environment.

EKFBs Head of Environment, Marcus Pearson, commented on the new partnership: “Our partnership with Enva represents a step-change in how we go about achieving our targets for waste minimisation and resource efficiency, including to divert >95% of our waste from landfill.

“This contributes to our overall ambitions for a circular economy in the construction sector. Enva is embedded into the environment and sustainability team and is geared up for the mammoth challenge to deliver an efficient service for our waste management needs across the route.”

Enva’s Head of Brokerage, Dan Shearstone, said: “Enva is looking forward to working collaboratively with the EKFB teams to deliver best practice in waste compliance, material treatment and reporting, supporting EKFB in its commitment to protecting the environment and the place we work.”

EKFB is a joint venture that brings together international, market leading expertise from four leading civil engineering and construction companies: Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial Construction and BAM Nuttall. All four partners bring specialist expertise in the design, construction, operation, financing and maintenance of railway networks, including some of Europe’s largest high speed rail projects.
