Enva’s easichick animal bedding wins prestigious Circular Economy Award

Enva’s commitment to reducing environmental impact, preserving precious resources and developing sustainable supply chains was celebrated at the recent RWM exhibition where the company was presented with the prestigious ‘Circular Economy Award’.

The judging panel which included a number of well-respected industry experts, recognised Enva’s commitment to recovering a broad range of recyclable materials for use in high quality products and energy conversion.

The judges were particularly impressed with Enva’s bespoke animal beddings for horses, poultry and cattle that deliver significant environmental, health and economic benefits. The beddings (easibed, easichick and easicattle) are made from clean, recycled wood and manufactured to the specific needs of the animal concerned. For example, easichick for poultry is treated with an organic additive, making it bio-secure and guaranteed bacteria free* from factory to delivery.

Also of note was the consideration given to realising value from the product following its primary use. Used bedding can be spread on the land with the coveted Organic Farmers & Growers accreditation or used as a biomass fuel in the generation of sustainable energy. The judges were also excited by the fact Enva was using its internal resources to recycle the plastic bale bags from larger users to give this material another life.
