Enva awarded recycling contract for Metroline
1 Apr 2021
Metroline, the operator of 1,556 buses throughout Greater London and south Hertfordshire has appointed Enva, the recycling experts, to provide hazardous waste management services across their 16 sites. Rewarded for their commercial and environmental planning this move sees Enva advance its position at the forefront of waste and recycling services for the UK automotive and commercial service sector.
Enva enables waste to be recycled into new products, as secondary materials in manufacturing, or is reused in sustainable energy generation. Annually this equates to 1.2m tonnes of raw materials recovered from waste and saves 308,000 tonnes in CO2 emissions. This is equivalent to offsetting over 96,860 tonnes of fossil fuels or approximately 743,044 barrels of oil, that’s around half of the oil consumed on an average day across the whole of the UK.
Commenting on the award, Enva’s National Sales Director, Trevor Lawlor, said: “We look forward to working with Metroline and ensuring that their recycling and environmental performance reflects the quality of their operations. The service we provide optimises recycling whilst also managing cost. Improving environmental performance enhances your brand and makes good commercial sense. Tim Flint our Senior Account Manager will support this and oversee the success of this new partnership.”
Metroline’s Facilities & Premises Manager, Sarah Rider, also commented saying: “We fully recognise our responsibility to operate an environmentally sustainable service. I’m confident Enva’s experience in the sector will support us in further reducing our environmental impact through recovering and reusing the waste we produce”.
Metroline operates services under contract to Transport for London and is a subsidiary of ComfortDelGro Corporation; one of the world's largest passenger land transport companies.
