Service roll-out for St James Quarter

Service roll-out for St James Quarter

We are delighted to have begun the roll out of our complete waste management solution for the exciting new St James Quarter development in Edinburgh.

St James Quarter is a retail-led, lifestyle district that fully integrates into and enhances Edinburgh’s City Centre. Covering an impressive 1.7 million square feet, it includes an enviable line up of shops, restaurants, cafés, bars, public spaces and leisure venues with many major brands such as The Alchemist, & Other Stories, Stradivarius, Bershka and Pull&Bear making their Scottish debut.

With over 400 waste containers already delivered, Enva will ensure that the development’s retail occupiers will have a waste and recycling solution that is as impressive as the development itself. The ‘zero waste to landfill’ solution will see two Enva employees based on site in the service yard where waste will be weighed, categorised and logged. This will enable leaseholders to be billed directly according to the amount of waste they produce.  It will also mean that detailed and accurate waste management data can be provided to the centre’s facilities management provider, ABM, and individual retailers.

To support the operational rollout, our account management team are working closely with St James Quarter staff, ABM and the leaseholders to provide training on how to best segregate and manage their waste.  This engagement includes drop-in training sessions, toolbox talks and videos.

Enva is also providing waste management services to support the ongoing construction of St James Quarter including a cinema and residential units.

Stephen Cameron, Sales Director, summarises, “Committed to service excellence, Enva is looking forward to delivering a highly sustainable and cost-effective resource management solution for this flagship retail-led development.”
