Enva Company statement – Fire at Irish Waste Non-Hazardous Waste Facility, Carryduff
We can confirm that a fire was reported yesterday evening (Sunday) at the Irish Waste non-hazardous waste facility in Carryduff, Belfast, part of the Enva group.
The site emergency response procedures were immediately initiated, and Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) remains in attendance on site. The fire was contained to a single building and has now been extinguished.
The safety of our employees, emergency responders and the local community remains our absolute priority.
We recognise the concern and disruption this incident may cause for local residents and businesses and are continuing to work closely with NIFRS and supporting all guidance issued by the emergency services.
Operational contingency measures have been implemented and there is no anticipated impact to customer service or ongoing operations.
