Metals
- Aluminum (baled cans, baled caps, radiators)
- Light Iron
- Copper (fragmented, radiators)
- Steel (fragmented, unprocessed)
Recycling scrap metal is sustainable, diverting valuable material from landfill. Both ferrous and non-ferrous metals are recyclable. Ferrous Metals are usually magnetic, and will typically contain iron, alongside properties of other metals. They are also very susceptible to corrosion, so it is important they are disposed of responsibly.
Examples of ferrous metals are:
- Iron
- Steel
- Scrap vehicles
- Non-ferrous metals do not typically contain iron and are non-magnetic. They have a high resistance to corrosion and are considerably tougher than ferrous metals.
Examples of non-ferrous metals are:
- Aluminium
- Stainless steel
- Copper
- Brass
- Cable
