Walesby Forest and Enva Launch Educational Recycling Initiative on Global Recycling Day
18/03/25
Enva is proud to announce its partnership with Walesby Forest and Recycling Ollerton and Boughton on the launch of a new Educational Recycling Initiative today, Global Recycling Day.
The partnership aims to promote environmental responsibility by providing an educational programme across the 250-acre Walesby Forest site, focusing on the importance of recycling for future generations.
The newly introduced programme will engage visitors of all ages, with a special emphasis on teaching young people the significance of recycling and the impact it has on protecting the planet. By leveraging the natural environment of Walesby Forest, the initiative seeks to inspire visitors to adopt sustainable practices and contribute to a greener future.
The programme aligns with Walesby Forest’s commitment to sustainability and its ongoing efforts to foster environmental stewardship within the community.
The initiative is due to start from April 2025.
Walesby Forest
Walesby Forest is a leading outdoor activity centre located in the heart of Nottinghamshire. Committed to the development of young people and environmental sustainability, Walesby Forest provides an array of recreational activities while promoting eco-friendly practices across its 250-acre site.
Recycling Ollerton and Boughton
Recycling Ollerton and Boughton is a charity which provides work-based training placements to Adults with Learning Disabilities. Founded in 1999, R.O.B. as we quickly became known, grew from humble beginnings when a group at Notts. County Council’s, Whitewater Day Service, headed by two parents, Mike and Joan Tomlinson, began collecting and processing aluminium cans and newspapers. We now have 49 people with Learning Disabilities and 20 members of staff working to promote recycling and inclusivity in our community across 11,000 households and 130 local businesses.
Global Recycling Day
Global Recycling Day takes place annually on March 18th and the theme this year is #RecyclingHeroes2025 – celebrating the people, places, businesses, and activities that have championed recycling efforts. Recycling is an essential part of the fight against climate change and promotes global sustainability. It’s projected to save over a billion tonnes of CO2 emissions by 2030.
