Safety & Wellbeing Day 2026: Putting Our People First
This week, almost 150 colleagues from Enva in Ireland came together at the beautiful Killashee Hotel & Spa in Naas, Co. Kildare, for our annual Safety & Wellbeing Day, a dedicated day focused on what matters most: our people.
With teams travelling from across the business, the event provided an opportunity to step away from the day-to-day routine, connect with colleagues, and focus on the importance of safety, wellbeing and looking out for one another.
The day opened with an engaging session led by Barry Barnes and the team from Theatre at Work, who used live performance to bring workplace safety vividly to life. Rather than relying on traditional presentations, Barry used real-life scenarios and engaging live performances to encourage reflection, discussion and learning. The session challenged us all to think about the decisions we make every day, the risks that can become overlooked through routine and complacency, and the role each of us plays in creating a safer workplace. It was a powerful reminder that safety is not just about procedures and policies; it’s about people, awareness and making the right choices every day.
As highlighted throughout the event, no job is more important than ensuring everyone gets home safely at the end of each day. Every colleague has a family and friends waiting for them, and creating a culture where we look out for one another is a responsibility shared by all of us.
The focus then shifted to wellbeing and teamwork, with the energetic Orangeworks team, leading an action-packed programme of activities. This session strengthened relationships and reinforced the collaboration that makes Enva successful. Beyond the activities and prizes, the day was a valuable reminder that wellbeing extends far beyond the workplace. Taking time to focus on our physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing helps us perform at our best, support our colleagues, and build stronger, more resilient teams. By looking after ourselves, we can be at our best not only at work, but at home as well.
Erin Hooban, Head of HR, Enva Ireland, said: "Most days, we are busy looking after customers, keeping sites running and making sure the job gets done. Today is a chance to turn the focus back on ourselves — on safety, wellbeing and that’s very much in keeping with the values we try to live by every day. What really sets Enva apart is our people, and everything we achieve comes from the commitment, teamwork, and support our colleagues show every single day."
