Enva and STR Tecoil announce ULO Mutual Supply Agreement
20/01/22
Enva and STR Tecoil are pleased to announce that they have entered into a mutual supply agreement, which will see Enva supply over 10 million litres per annum of used lubricating oil (ULO) to STR Tecoil for re-refining back to base oils for new lubricants.
STR Tecoil use the best available technology to re-refine ULO back to base lubricants achieving the highest possible Standard (Group II+/III). These base oils are then used to blend finished lubricating oils for vehicles and other industrial applications.
Re-refining ULO and displacing virgin base oils reduces pressure on the Earth’s natural resources while also realising significant carbon dioxide savings over the production of lubricants from virgin crude oil. The "green" hydrogen used in the manufacturing process is produced by splitting water into hydrogen and oxygen using renewable electricity from wind farms.
ULO is produced across a wide variety of sectors including automotive, agricultural, transport, industrial, municipal and marine. Enva alone serves some 12,000 waste oil customers across the UK and Ireland, collecting and transporting 70 million litres of ULO every year to our strategically located depots and processing facilities.
