Enva launches premium recycled plastic compound for manufacturers

New White HIPS-8513 recycled plastic compound transforms plastics recovered from end-of-life refrigerators into a high-quality raw material that helps manufacturers increase recycled content, reduce carbon emissions and accelerate the transition to more circular production.
Enva has launched a new recycled plastic compound that enables manufacturers to increase recycled content, reduce carbon emissions and move closer to more circular production.
White HIPS-8513 is a high-quality recycled high impact polystyrene (HIPS) compound containing 93% post-consumer recycled content. Developed using Enva's advanced sorting and compounding processes, it represents the company's whitest recycled HIPS grade to date, delivering the consistent colour, physical performance and dependable long-term supply demanded by modern manufacturers.
Life cycle assessment of Enva's recycled HIPS compounds has shown carbon emissions more than 90% lower than equivalent virgin HIPS, highlighting the significant environmental benefits recycled materials can deliver for manufacturers seeking to reduce the environmental impact of their products.
The new compound builds on Enva's unique position as both a leading recycler of end-of-life white goods and a manufacturer of high-quality recycled plastic compounds. Plastic recovered from end-of-life refrigerators can now be transformed into a premium, prime equivalent white HIPS compound that delivers performance comparable to virgin material for a wide range of manufacturing applications. The result is a genuine circular solution that keeps valuable resources in use for longer while reducing reliance on virgin plastic.
While White HIPS-8513 has been specifically with white goods manufacturers in mind, where it is suitable for applications including refrigerator liners, shelves, trays and shelf surrounds. Enva also sees significant potential across the construction sector for products such as piping and ducting, ventilation components, access panels and loft hatches. The company is also targeting opportunities within the automotive sector as demand for high-quality recycled materials continues to grow.
Unlike traditional supply chains, where manufacturers often source recycled polymers from multiple suppliers, Enva controls every stage of the process, from collecting and recycling end-of-life appliances through to producing finished plastic compounds.
