Enva opens ‘urban quarry’ in Leicester

Local recycling specialist, Enva, has reopened its Sunningdale Road site in Leicester following a major redevelopment which means it can now process an additional 50,000 tonnes of construction waste every year.

The company which employs around 325 people across the East Midlands has invested over £100,000 in the site expansion with new processing equipment and additional material storage bays for a range of aggregates and soils.

The facility, which is modelled on the company’s sister site in Nottingham, now provides a fantastic ‘one-stop-shop’ for local waste management companies, utility contractors, builders and landscapers looking to dispose of their waste or collect a range of high-quality recycled aggregates, sand and soils to use on their sites.

Commenting on the opening our Director, Paul Needham, said: “This investment has enabled us to create what is in effect an urban quarry in the heart of Leicester. In doing so we have helped our customers to reduce fuel costs, cut emissions and realise the commercial and environmental benefits of the valuable resources they use and manage every day.”

With no prebooking required the Leicester site offers rapid turnaround times and easy access from the city centre, ring road, A47 and A46.
