Plastic waste is highly publicised in terms of the destruction it is causing to our environment and the effect it is having on habitats around the world, especially our oceans. As one of the UK’s leading recyclers of waste plastics in the UK, specialising in small household appliances, Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Recycling (WEEE), Enva is committed to creating the highest quality recycled compounds that can be used to manufacture new components and products, diverting as much waste plastics as possible from landfill supported by comprehensive specifications and REACH data sheets.
Enva's investment in its plastic recycling facilities has been extensive, doubling our capacity and creating one of the UK's largest and most advanced plastic recycling facilities. As well as our flagship recycling facilities in Bourne, we also collect and recycle lower grade household and commercial plastic wastes at facilities in the East Midlands and Glasgow in Scotland.
Certain types of FMCG plastics are often more difficult to recycle back into polymers but, where possible, they are used in the production of an energy source for furnaces and kilns called SRF (Solid Recovered Fuel) or RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel).
