Enva Group (“the Company”), formerly known as DCC Environmental, a leading provider of waste management and waste materials solutions in the UK and Ireland, today announced that it has acquired Blue Sky Plastic Recycling (“BSP”) for an undisclosed sum.
BSP, based in Bourne, Lincolnshire, specialises in recycling plastics from Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and other waste plastic materials. Recovered plastics are formulated and refined to substitute virgin plastic material in manufacturing processes. BSP deploys state-of-the-art waste separation technologies to sort waste plastics from other materials, and converts the waste plastics into a range of high-quality regrinds and compounds.
BSP will form the fifth operating unit within Enva Group and will continue to be led by existing Managing Director and principal shareholder Chris Riddle.
Commenting on the acquisition, Tom Walsh, CEO of Enva Group, said: “We are delighted to be investing in BSP. Chris and his team, through clever innovation and many years of process development, have established solutions for one of the critical waste challenges of our time; converting plastic waste back into a valuable raw material. The acquisition of BSP extends our existing suite of material recovery solutions. We are excited about the opportunity to support and accelerate the further development of BSP as it leverages its expertise across an ever-wider range of waste plastic materials.”
Niall Wall, Executive Chairman, commented: “BSP’s advanced technology is at the forefront of our industry, which opens up a new strategically important dimension for our Group. It presents an opportunity to capitalise on the growing demand in this specialist area of the plastic recycling market.”
Also commenting, Chris Riddle, Managing Director of BSP, said: “This is a very exciting time for our business, our customers and our staff. Becoming part of Enva Group is a mark of what we have been able to achieve thus far. The acquisition gives us the platform to continue to build upon that success.”
