Lookers extends Enva waste & recycling deal

Lookers extends Enva waste & recycling deal

Lookers, one of the UK’s top motor vehicle retailers, has agreed a new two-year extension for their waste management requirements.

The agreement, which extends the two parties’ 12-year relationship, will see Enva manage a wide variety of waste streams from over 125 sites across the UK. These include: 1.4 million litres of waste oil, metal, batteries, spray gun cleaner, interceptors as well as hazardous and general waste from the workshop and sales operations.

Derek Parry, Lookers Head of Strategic Procurement, said: “One of the key factors in Lookers’ decision was the desire to partner with a provider who could offer a fully sustainable, compliant waste management solution which would also aid Lookers in achieving its environmental & recycling aspirations.  We also wanted to work in partnership to deliver continuous improvement.”

The years of experience and intelligence gained from the two companies working together will be employed to further aid cost control whilst also improving recycling and resource efficiency and credentials. In addition, the use of a single vehicle to collect the core hazardous waste streams has reduced vehicle journeys, pollution and disruption to the operations. Additional innovations will be rolled out over the next term to ensure increased efficiency and reduced environmental impact.

Commenting on the new agreement, Enva’s National Sales Director, Trevor Lawlor, said: “Lookers’ decision to extend Enva’s relationship with the Group is testament to the outstanding relationship we have developed over our time working together.  It is a genuine partnership with both companies fully committed to market leading levels of sustainability underpinned by a detailed focus on service levels and operational efficiency. We were delighted with the end result of the evaluation process and look forward to the next term.”

The new agreement with Lookers follows the recent appointment of Enva by Guy Salmon Jaguar Land Rover in North London and Steven Eagell Toyota.
