Job Title:           Chemical Process Operator

Reporting to:   Site Operations Management Team

Region:               Shannon

Main purpose of role:

To support and assist in the pumping and treatment of chemical wastes in accordance with company operating procedures through direct involvement in operations.

General Duties & Responsibilities:

  • To support and assist in the processing of chemical wastes through the physio chemical and AOP treatment platforms as effectively as possible in a safe and responsible manner.
  • To develop an understanding of batch processing/recipe /compatibility and charging of wastes for treatment batches. Take direction from site operations management team as is necessary.
  • To liaise with operations management and lab management as and when required and to escalate issues or problems as they arise.
  • Report all faults encountered with equipment directly to  site operation management team.
  • To operate process equipment according to standard operating procedures. 
  • To complete all necessary paperwork e.g. batch records relating to treatment processes and to maintain records for the EPA and waste management license as required.
  • To adhere to all company health and safety rules and procedures and proactively partake in the ‘’everyday a safe day’’ culture within Enva,  paying particular attention to near miss reporting  and participate actively in improving site HSE culture.

Skills/ Experience required:  

  • No experience required as full training will be provided (such as Chemical Awareness, Forklift, Manual Handling Training etc).
  • Experience in operating machinery is an advantage (but not essential as training will be provided).
  • Forklift licence is preferable (but not essential as training will be provided);
  • Chemical handling experience is an advantage (but not essential, as training will be provided).
  • Ability to work both individually and as part of a team with good communication skills;
  • Good attention to detail.
