Overview of Role

Due to continued growth, we have a  opportunity for a Class 2  Drivers to join our team in Nottingham commencing at 06:00AM - 15:45PM for a 45 hour a week shift.  The role will deliver, pick up and exchange trade bins/ bags and bales within different environments ensuring excellent customer service, a high level of perception ensuring yours and others Health & safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ensuring your own health and safety and that of others and promoting a positive health and safety culture within the workplace
  • Ensure all Health and safety obligations are met, and company policies are adhered to
  • Report any safety concerns, hazard observations, accidents and incidents in a timely manner to allow full investigation and prevent re-occurrence
  • Complete daily pre-start vehicle inspections and submit to Transport dept
  • Report all accidents, vehicle defects, breakdowns
  • Ensuring compliance with Duty of Care regulations by inspecting waste and completing waste transfer notes, as necessary
  • The completion of relevant tickets or the use of the handheld device (As appropriate), detailing the necessary information and obtaining a customer signature where applicable
  • Ensure that bins are delivered to standard and complete the sign off sheet as appropriate
  • Ensure that health, safety and welfare standards are maintained in accordance with the Company’s safety policy, Risk Assessments, Safe Working Procedures and Instructions
  • Check Risk Assessments for new container deliveries 
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the driving cab
  • Ensure the delivery of excellent customer service
  • Identify and communicate any areas for improvement
  • Actively take part in the driver debrief at the end of each shift highlighting any safety issues, vehicle defects and recommending route and customer improvements. 

Key Competencies:

  • Class 2 LGV driving licence
  • HIAB hook certification
  • Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)
  • Professional and organised approach
