Overview of Role

We are currently seeking a Driver Trainer for our Transport Department based in Nottingham, with weekly visits to Leicester as required. The working hours are 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with additional hours as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all drivers are fully trained to required standards on all driving aspects, vehicle equipment operation, health and safety, and periodic training relevant to their roles.
  • Support Transport Managers with driver compliance through relevant training.
  • Manage driver cyclical events such as Driver CPC, medicals, licence checks, and eye tests.
  • Assist in the development of toolbox talks and the investigation of accidents and incidents.
  • Utilise vehicle telematics to improve driving behaviours and reduce associated costs.

Key Competencies

  • LGV licence and Qualified Driving Instructor or minimum Driving Assessor qualification.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to conduct training that engages and educates.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively under pressure.
  • Proactive, flexible, and adaptable approach to work.
  • Commitment to promoting and enhancing workplace safety and compliance. 

Remuneration and Benefits:

  • £38,000 -£45,000 pa reflective of experience and qualifications.
