The successful candidate will play a key role in the continued development of Enva’s expanding Health and safety team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team within Enva and contribute to developing and driving operational safety within the business.

The successful candidate must have good level of IT literacy and competence as the role will require the applicant to be involved in the development of software for key management system elements. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To ensure that operational activities are compliant with relevant legal and good practice requirements.
  • Ongoing monitoring and development of the safety management systems to optimise it’s efficiency and maximise its effectiveness. This includes working with the Facility Management, Line Managers and other stakeholders to ensure the maintenance of the safety management systems and contributing to the adherence to other management system standards within the organisation e.g. ISO 14001, ISO 9001 where required.
  • Support Local management team in the development of a safe system of a work for their activities, this shall include assisting relevant line managers/Supervisors with the preparation and completion of risk assessments and associated controls for their areas.
  • Ensure that the appropriate and timely level of incident and accident investigation is conducted throughout the operation for all incidents and accidents. As the safety representative for all investigations, you will be responsible for assisting the local line management in the assessment of direct and indirect causes of incidents and accidents.
  • Develop and deliver training to various stakeholders throughout the business as required.
  • Develop and build relationships across the organisation to foster a positive safety culture while supporting productivity and success.
  • Building of relationships across all stake holders within the business e.g. line managers/supervisors/safety representatives etc. in order to influence and impact on safety practises.
  • Assist the HSEQ manager in the development of overall HSEQ system controls as required within the business unit through group initiatives.
  • Promote a continuous improvement culture in relation to all HSEQ work practices throughout the business e.g. the development of campaigns to improve awareness, development of initiatives to promote and increase compliance within the business unit.
  • Fulfil the role of the appointed DGSA for the business unit (with full training provided). This shall include verifying that compliant work practises are being adhered to when classifying, handling and carrying dangerous goods. This will also include the completion of an annual DGSA report for the business unit.
  • Prioritise work within the context of the business needs and the overall objectives set for the safety team at a group and local level. This will include needing to work on your own initiative, in a self-directed and autonomous manner or within a team.
  • The ability to develop effective two-way communications to drive home Key HSE actions/identify areas of weakness/risk. This will deliver efficiency in the process and ultimately better outcomes and results.

Key requirements and qualifications desired

  • Good level of IT literacy and competence, in particular understanding work flows and data.
  • An energetic, progressive, can do attitude with proven capabilities.
  • You must have a flexible approach and attitude to your work with the ability to prioritise your workload and be able to respond to changing situations.
  • Excellent communicator and an ability to work with personnel at all levels of the organisation.
    Good organisational and time management skills;
  • Full Driving licence: Willingness to routinely travel nationally and occasionally internationally
