Night Supervisor

We are looking to recruit a Night Supervisor at our site in Colwick working continental 4-on 4-off shift pattern, 18:00pm - 06:00am. 

The Role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Responsible for ensuring the health & safety of all personnel within the company including yourself by your actions and reporting of issues by adhering to all company procedures
  • Encourage and monitor near miss reporting within the team and ensure feedback is provided (ensuring near misses are input onto OSHENS for those without computer access)
  • Take reasonable care of your own health and safety, and that of others who may be affected by your actions or lack of action at work
  • Cooperate with Enva and co-workers to help everyone meet their Health and safety obligations
  • Ensuring company Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) policies are strictly adhered to
  • Bring to Enva’s attention any safety concerns or potential shortfalls in our HSEQ provisions
  • Report all accidents, incidents and near misses at the time they occur
  • Near miss – low level investigations & close out
  • Review and update RA’s / SWP’s as and when required
  • Ensure team are using the correct PPE at all times and paperwork is completed in a timely manner
  • To ensure all pre-start checks are carried out
  • Ensure Lock off tag out on all equipment is carried out
  • Ensure compliance and maintenance of FPP  
  • Control of non-conforming items (fridges, gas canisters)
  • Ensure that dynamic risk assessments are carried out as required
  • Monitor hourly throughput tonnage 
  • Oversee picking line is working at its optimum, monitoring pick rates, ensure blockages cleared and any equipment issues reported in a timely manner
  • Monitor/drive recovery quality & performance
  • Update KPI boards
  • Update OPE data
  • Plant run data reviewed at the end of each shift
  • Inspection of picking bays – recovery / contamination of picked material
  • Ensure the housekeeping of the site is to an acceptable standard
  • Carry out 5 ‘s’ / Housekeeping audits
  • Completion of I-Auditor
  • Responsible for ensuring daily observations are carried out and appropriate action taken as required
  • Checking of daily production sheets
  • Ensure any issues relating to equipment, production or team are reported to Assistant Operations Manager
  • Responsible for driving autonomous maintenance
  • Responsible for the moral, development and performance management of the team (to include investigations and low level disciplinaries)
  • Completion of new employee role specific inductions 
  • Performance management of team – investigation 
  • Carry out annual appraisals
  • Ensure that any team training requirements are reported to Operations Manager and appropriate training carried out in line with H & S, SWP’s / RA’s
  • Carry out annual appraisals with team and ensure identified training and development is completed
  • Complete shift hand over 
  • Run / attend daily team briefs
  • Absence reporting / update of HR system in a timely manner
  • Return to work interviews completed and returned to HR on the first day back to work
  • Approve / update Hols / absence into HR system

Skills and experience:

  • Previously First Aider and Fire Marshall, or willing to attend training
  • Production experience
  • Responsible for the management of a team of 13 – 16 permanent and temporary employees 
  • Experienced in fast-moving continuous or batch processing environment with heavy industrial equipment and automation
  • Experienced in technical and practical problem solving 

Remuneration and benefits:

  • £15.85 per hour, £23.28 per hour over time (Flexible towards overtime for cover during holiday seasons)
  • Positions available: 1 permanent
