Transport Controller

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Transport Controller to join the Transport team, based at our Linwood depot. This is a full time, Monday to Friday permanent position.

• Receiving customer phone calls and email queries, providing assistance with a wide variety of matters
• Planning and confirming daily routes
• Liaising with drivers to ensure high level of customer service and efficiency are reached and maintained
• Liaising with external contractors to secure additional operatives if required
• Assisting and understanding of other Traffic Coordinators’ roles and providing cover when required
• Logging and maintaining customer database on company CRM system.

The right candidate will demonstrate:

• Strong IT literacy skills and a good understanding of all Microsoft Office systems
• Ability to work in a fast paced and demanding environment
• Good geographic knowledge of the east and central Scotland
• Excellent time management skills
• A polite and conscientious telephone manner
• Excellent administration and organizational abilities
• Excellent communication skills
• Eye for detail
• Team player.

Experience and Qualifications:

• Experience working within a Transport department is required
• Experience working within the waste management industry is advantageous but not essential as full training will be given.

Salary and Benefits:

• Up to £27,000 per year
• 40 hours per week
• Shift Pattern- Monday to Friday
• 26 days and 4 statutory days holiday
